Effective date: 17 October 2026.
Who is responsible
The data controller is the publisher of the site: [OWNER: company name, legal form, registered office address], reachable at info@seine.boats. Full contact details are in the legal notice. This policy applies the RGPD (Règlement général sur la protection des données, known in English as the GDPR, Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and the loi Informatique et Libertés, France's data protection act.
What we do not collect
The site offers no account creation, no newsletter, no payment and no booking form. We use no analytics tool, no ad network and no social media buttons. We neither sell nor rent any data.
The data actually processed
The hosting provider's server logs. Like any website, seine.boats is served by a hosting provider, [OWNER: name of the hosting provider], whose servers automatically record, for each visit, the IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the browser used and the referring page. Purpose: running the site, keeping it secure and diagnosing outages. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and available (GDPR, art. 6(1)(f)). Retention period: [OWNER: how long the hosting provider keeps the logs]. We do not use these logs to identify you or to compile visitor statistics.
Messages sent to info@seine.boats. If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if it appears, and the content of your message. Purpose: replying to you, and correcting the site if you report a mistake. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us. Messages are hosted by [OWNER: email service provider] and kept for [OWNER: period, for example three years after the last exchange], then deleted. Your address is never added to a mailing list or passed on to our partners.
Your calendar display preference. It is stored in your browser only (local storage, key sb-cc); it is never sent to us. Details in our cookie policy.
What happens on our partners' side
Availability calendars. Some pages embed calendars from GetYourGuide and Tiqets. When they load, your browser downloads a script from the platform's servers, which then receive your IP address and technical information, and may set or read cookies. By default, these calendars load automatically when you scroll down to them; if you choose "Only on click" in the "Calendar settings" option in the footer, no partner script loads until you click on the calendar.
Offer photos. The photos on the offer cards are served from the image servers of GetYourGuide, Tiqets and Headout. As with any image loaded from another website, those servers receive your IP address and technical information about your browser.
Booking links. When you click an affiliate link, you leave seine.boats. The link address contains our partner code, not any personal data about you. Everything you do next (searching, booking, paying) is processed by the platform as a separate data controller, under its own privacy policy. The platforms send us booking reports used solely to calculate our commissions. See our affiliate disclosure.
The privacy policies of GetYourGuide, Tiqets and Headout are published on their respective websites; among other things, they explain any transfers of data outside the European Union.
Recipients and transfers
The data we process is accessible only to the publisher and its technical service providers (hosting, email), who act on our behalf. [OWNER: state whether the hosting or email provider processes data outside the European Union and, if so, the safeguard used.]
Your rights
You have the right of access, correction, erasure, restriction of processing and objection (GDPR, art. 15 to 21). French law also gives you the right to set instructions for what happens to your data after your death. To exercise these rights, write to info@seine.boats stating your request; we may ask you for something to verify your identity if the request warrants it. We reply within the one-month period set by the GDPR.
For data processed by GetYourGuide, Tiqets or Headout (your booking, your account with them), contact the platform directly: we have no access to it.
Complaints to the CNIL
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can file a complaint with the CNIL (Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, the French data protection authority), online at cnil.fr or by post. We encourage you to write to us first: most questions are settled with a simple exchange of emails.
Changes
This policy may change, for example if the site adds a feature or switches service provider. The effective date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
